I don't remember whether or not I have posted pix of this but don't think I have. It's a "Vanguard Kit" from the Alled Van Company, a sort of "Welcome Wagon" assortment of homemaking supplies. In addition to the stuff you see below, there is a variety of pamphlets, and some packets of instant coffee and so on. But there are the most fun items in the kit. The date on the front of the "truck" is 1959.

Very cool.

A great collection of well-known brands from the late '50s (many of which are still household names).

I like the absurdity of the ScotTowels detail. She seems to be falling off of her low stepladder, grasping frantically at the cabinet door to keep from crashing to the ground (luckily, cabinet doors were made to take it in those days).

She also seems to keep her coffee cups on hooks at ceiling level, where she could only reach them using the perilous stepladder. Maybe she needs to switch to Decaf, served in Dixie cups.

Now those are...

Incredible. You take and post such fantastic photos. Spic and Span. I think only available in liquid now. But I still remember how it smells, and how the water felt. You have talked about the wax before, but I don't remember any pics.

I haven't seen or heard of Delsey in many years. It's made by Kimberly-Clark. The current prospectus of K-C lists Delsey as one of their brands. I have seen it advertised in Mexico, the UK and Australia.
Now HERE is a site that I never would have guessed would have been created. Everything you want to know!

Spic 'n Span

"Spic and Span. I think only available in liquid now."

No, the powder is still available, but it has been "re-fragranced", as they say. Publix carries it, but for some strange reason, it's kept behind the Customer Service counter at the Publix nearest me, not on the shelves.

It may not be in every Publix- they're a little strange about stuff like that. Some Publixes have Fels-Naphtha, for instance, but many don't.

I personally don't care for the Paris Hilton-y scent of the "new" Spic 'n Span, but it cleans like it useter.
