I couldn't believe it, but had to have it, A 1958 middle of the line 30 inch Kenmore range...It looks like it was delivered yesterday, I will try to figure out how to post pictures from Donalds phone, Since my camera died Ive been out of luck as far as posting pics....my brain is still stuck in the 60s..lol..Seriously, I'm more of a Westinghouse, GE or Frigidaire person, but this thing is in such great shape I had to get it....I cant find aNY wear ,grease or rust anywhere, Even the drip pans and the Infrarod emblems in the center of the units look new.

Congratulations...but

Roper-made ranges not use top heat for baking so it is very important to use the PREHEAT setting to start baking and to put the food in as soon as the heat cycles off to take advantage of the heat coming from the broil unit before the selector switch is set to BAKE. When I used a Roper-built Whirlpool range, the only way I could get it to turn out biscuits with golden-brown tops was to bake them, start to finish, on PREHEAT. I believe that the oven control can be replaced with one that puts the broil unit into the circuit during bake. John told me about doing that for a customer.
