Altering programming on Hoover Logic A8572þ

Hi guys,

This has been annoying me since I got this machine, the machine fills to normal level for 95*, 60* and 40* wash, heats to the temperature, tumbles and progresses to 40* machine washable wool to fill up to high level. Now normally if the machine was fed with H&C fill then the heater would not need to be reactivated but since only cold water is available in my shed the machine fills up to high level with cold water therefore cooling the previously heated 40* water. I was hoping that I could bypass the high fill for woollens so that it would just carry on without topping up. I think the only way I could achieve this is by losing the high level altogether but I would miss those lovely deep rinses. Could I do something with the wiring between the pressure switch and half load button or timer?

I would leave it as it is. Surely this is the cool down part of the programme isn't it? I wish my machine did this because it helps reduce creasing. My Mum had a Hoover Electron in the 1980's when I was living at home and it used to do the same thing. By the time it reaches the point in the programme where it fills up with cold to a high level it has all but finished the wash. I don't recall it making a difference to the performance of the wash.......................

2 Stage Washing

this was a feature on Hoover machines for many many years, if you look at it from this angle, first you get a low level intense wash as the machine heats to 40 degrees and when it fills up to high level you get a gentle deep action wash which I think is a really good idea, mine only re-heats on this cycle if the water is very cold it heats for about 4 or 6 minutes back up to 40, on the hot washes obviously it doesn't reheat for more than 2 minutes as the 40 degree thermostat will have tripped, and on those washes it is acting as a cool down cycle aswell.

Unique feature, why change it? some splash drama as well, half the planet is giving their high teeth to have higher fills the other half wants us to wash with beads - I say stay as you are James!!

Reconsidering, I'll love with it. I have done enough modifications to this machine as it is, I disabled the electric part of the interlock as it was impractical because the door was already interlocked with the timer anyway so thanks to Gary (Electron1100) for the advice a while back on that one. Also the smaller of the two dryer elements failed so that was bypassed but drying performance is still pretty much normal because of the big element doing most of the work.

Logic programming

While the programming is a bit unconventional it only occurs on the 40 degree cycles. If you had the machine connected to hot and cold it would make no difference as the machine switches to cold fill only for the high level fill regardless.

Just one of the quirks of these machines, I have my logic 1300 installed now, just does a cold dilution rinse at the end of all cottons programmes for a couple of minutes before draining.

Why not fill it on the final rinse, then it won't top up for the cooldown, I always do this with the Logic Premier, to get a full length deep wash cycle.

Why would you want to do that for it's false economy. The Electrons, logics still fill to a good half decent water level on the low fill cotton cycles. When mine gets to the high level fill @ the wool stage even if i have started it on non fast 40 colours cycle mine just tumbles for a few times without re-heating the water then it's pumped out.
