I was at work the other day, handling some of our belts and I thought "Gee, that looks an awful lot like a Maytag drive belt." and it got me thinking. SO, Ive brought various machine belts to work and compared their size to what we have in inventory, and then measured the width and length of each belt and lo and behold, wouldnt you know it, but all of them were a match. A much cheaper match.
Maytags drive belt is a 4L390 (also known as a A37) and the pump belt is a 3L390.
GE Filter Flos use a 4L300 (also known as an A28)
And finally, the Whirlpool belt drive, non quiet pack, uses an AX47 belt.
SO, considering a 3L390 and 4L390 together are $17 Canadian versus $36 from Whirlpool, there may be some value in this.
Anyone else try this? What about Martin/Yogi with your super belt drive? What did you use for that?
