I like these older ones without a touchpad.

I don't think $100 is realistic.  Or is it?

It looks like the glass tray is missing.  $100 is fair, it's also listed as OBO.  Feel free to send me a NIB one for $100 if someone finds one!

I have 2 RR4D's.  One was $25 and a long car ride, the other was $5 and local.  I felt sorry for them.

Hi Ralph - Since it's so close to you, $100 is probably ok. I would feel it's a little high, but then the market there is different and comparing to what I've found, this would be on the high side. Whatever you decide, these are cool - love the lights! :-)

I just got a newer 1977/78 Touchmatic II that was on eBay. The shipping from Arizona to Vermont did cost about $87. It was advertised as defective (with "repeating" numbers) for $50 and the seller wouldn't ship it but I offered a bit more for the shipping/handling and the seller accepted and changed the price to "Buy-it-now" with shipping included and I bought it... I was tired to wait that an early Touchmatic II to show up for cheap on local ads so I went for it.  It arrived in good shape (undamaged with no more issues than those the seller described) and I fixed it with less than $5 worth of capacitors earlier today.

I also have a RR-4D that's similar to the one on the Craigslist ad. I don't remember exactly what I paid for it but it was about $100 too. Mine came with some documents and there was no missing trim on it but as with most Craigslist ads, prices can often be negotiated down! So $100 isn't such a bad starting price in my opinion!

A few years ago, I bought a RR-2 with a missing glass tray which was advertised locally for $50. I offered $30 and I got it. After I made my offer, I saw that the seller had placed a newer ad for it at $5, so I offered 6 times more than what she was asking in her newest ad. I didn't care much about this as I was still pleased to get it at $30, I paid more than that just to get a glass tray for it!

$100 isn't terrible, but it's missing the center trim disc on the lower knob which is harder to find than the tray.

What's really driven up Craigslist prices on RR's the last couple years has been ebay sales (and ebay asking prices). The nutcase on ebay with an RR-4 is still asking $5900 half a year later. Not a typo..they emailed me trying to cut me a deal for a couple grand off the asking price.

I've also been contacted by buyers of these $150+ ebay machines who were willing to pay that amount to have a working RR when their old one bit the dust and the local dealer tells them 'sorry, can't be fixed'. Too often though, they're buying someone else's problems.
