Sometimes size matters.
American "Refrigeration Centers" are probably some of the largest avaialble for home use.
I would venture to guess that most other countries have homes located wihtin towns where shoppping is very closeby and that food shoping is done more frequently than here. (Think good and classic "urban planning").
We won't eat it unless it's been processed to death.
They wont eat it unless its fresh.

That looks just like our main fridge, built by Amana right here in Newton, IA USA! I don't know about SBDE520, ours is marked Model#: 36795.
The only problem we've had with ours is failure of the water dispenser tube. It gradually becomes brittle due to heat and then will crack. Since the valve is at the inlet you won't generally have a problem until you put your glass up to the dispenser. The fix was easy- pulled the plastic panel behind the crisper to reveal the coil of tubing that cools the water and doled a little more out. Cut out the brittle section, relocated it from the heat source and used a 50 cent compression splice. Anyway.....

Maytag bought Amana to get and have a refrigeration division.
No matter whose name gets put on it the Amana engineering has not changed. Only, perhaps, the name on the parts source.

That Amana fridge was built when Raytheon owned Amana. So its not a Maytag produced product. If you look at the model plate it should say Raytheon on it as well.
