Hello:
I've got an Amana Touchmatic RR-9T in my sights (if there is the model I really want, a pre-Touchmatic, RR-4D still loose in Atlanta, I have failed to find it), and I have a question:
Does anyone know of a resource to rebuild the Touchmatic panel? Cory Heisterkamp's site gives instructions, but I am not competent to do the required soldering - that's a skill I've been unable to master, try as I might.
If anyone knows of some devoted hobbyist or repair person who still fools with these babies, I'd be grateful to know. P.S.: Please, no "Oh, soldering's so easy" tips. Been there, done that, and I promise you - the world is a safer place because I stopped trying.
There are people who specialise in all sorts of older technologies that their manufacturers no longer support, like Sony Mavica digital cameras, Singer Athena sewing machine motherboards, etc. I'm hoping someone out there is making a nice little side income fixing Touchmatic panels.
