This isn't appliance related but it is an amazing collection.

Probably the biggest private collection/museum of vintage radio equipment known. The owner and curator has done an amazing job at gathering, restoring and presenting all this gear. The displayed collection appears to be in the many hundreds of radios and I'd bet that they are all functional. Much of the collection covers WWII radios and he even has a couple commercial radio transmitters. There is one wall that is devoted to modern gear as well.

What makes this all the more impressive is that its located on an ISLAND in Lake Michigan, just off the tip of Door County, WI! There were a LOT of boat trips to bring all this in... George and his wife run a Bed & Breakfast there on a small private farm property. Visitors to the B&B have full access to the radio equipment.

This link takes you to a page with more photos as well as a link to the B&B page:

Amazing Ham radio collection...

the guy in CA that owed the audio magazine I used to write for had probably the biggest vintage tube audio HiFi collection in the world, I'd guesstimate at least 5 to 10 times the amount of ham gear you see here, it required multiple buildings to store it all. Apparently it wasn't enough to keep him happy, he committed suicide several years ago. Sometime we own stuff, sometimes the stuff owns you...

that is one nice collection!-i looked to see if he has any of the same radios i have and i recognized just 1 that matches one i have-a rack mount army receiver, mine built in '68 and i beleve an older design as it is all tube.bought mine in non-working order, but it is all intact-a fix up project for someday.

Really comprehensive collection of radio gear-most of it is amateur related-recognized that Collins 21V2 1Kw AM transmitter in the corner!!Worked on those at one time!few stations near DC and Baltimore used those!!Now those transmitters are just given away--or worse----scrapped.Many "Hams" get older 1Kw transmitters and convert them to the 160 meter ham band.
