WOW!
I just got back from one of the most fun adventures ever!
I was invited to Gansky1's home. It was just a blast.
Got to meet some very nice people.
Got to see the most amazing washing machine collection ever!
And got to use some great vacuum cleaners!
I will have some pictures later. But here is kind of the story of what went on-
I arrived around 2pm today. Everyone was in the garage talking about stuff. I was introduced to everyone and we got into discussing some of my vacuums, and about what I have. Everyone loved my Constellation 86 and Kirby D80!
Greg brought over this -FABULOUS- hoover convertible (model slips my mind)
It was a light green with maybe a hint of yellow tint to it. Handle was painted green. Diving board bag support, and GOLD lettering and GOLD trim on the light!
Oh my it worked so well!
We then used the constellation 86. Everyone gave it a twirl.
Tania showed me the fantastic Saniway canister. What a great little vacuum! Very powerful!
I went in and down into Gregs basement. Gave myself a little self guided tour of his super impressive collection! What a gorgeous set of machines. Everything was super clean and just looked new.
My absolute favorite was the Bendix dual purpose machine with the front door that looks like the front of a 50s car. Oh it was just awesome. It has a dial you turn that looks like a bullet nose of a car that pops the door open.
His vacuum collection is just as fantastic. He had a gorgeous hoover model 26 in MINT condition. Looked to be all original. Also had two constellations. Gave the new stainless steel one a twirl.
He has a great looking eureka cordaway in gold and chrome with the square top bag. It ran so perfect!
He had many other machines, all equally as nice. I saw a new in box compact! Oh I wish I could take a peek inside! A new in box eureka from the 80s as well.
______
We all took a trip to ---Nebraska Furniture Mart---- Oh boy was that a hoot.
We all were crowded in the vacuum aisles testing things out. The people of NFM must have thought we were crazy.
____
We all seemed fascinated and slightly bordified of this new whirpool TOL machine

It was interesting looking. Had a LARGE display touch screen and ipod-esque controls. Very interesting. But the finish showed EVERY fingerprint. And it had a slightly pathetic spin speed.
AND IT WAS $2,000!!! For just the washer! The dryer was another $2,000
We wandered around a bit more and then went back to Gregs
____
I got to meet Gregs extremely nice parents. Very fun people. We were all looking through better homes and gardens magazines from the 50s and 60s. Just fantastic ads to look at. Oh the good ol days.
Things were being cooked up in the kitchen. Oh boy did it smell great! I had to go home but I am sure it is all going well right now!
*******
I would like to thank all who were there for such a fun time, and of course Greg for being generous to let us crazy people in.

Greg's son Skyler, actually goes to my school! He was in my 6th grade class, and we went through middle and now half of highschool together. Very nice kid.
