in first half of The Edge of Night episode, complete with night descending over the screen, electric organ background music, very frequent commercials (almost like today), "Modren" furnishings, a line of Hotpoint appliances in a Gleem commercial and in a Mr. Clean ad, an Maytag agitating with the lid up and a bulgy door Philco refrigerator. There is also a pause halfway through the show for station identification, in case you could not remember which of the two or three networks you were watching.

Dig that

cyclotron control! Almost as famous as the Arc-Cuate 210 transmission!

I too use tide in my washer even though SQ did not pack any in there when I bought it!

WOW!

They never said that they washed the other half of that shirt in anything !! All she said was the shirt was that dirty and now with Tide it was that clean!! Holy Moly!

I think she also said "cycl-tron" but can't be sure till I see Doctrine on AMC's. Were they Beam machines??

Okay, what is 'GL-70" ??

OMG Mr.Clean on a dog NO WAY! Caustic is very bad for dog coats !! They need their oils!

AMC-Franklin Built Washer

This TOL model often came with a reservoir type bleach dispenser system, and when you selected the top cycle button for whites you automatically got LCB added, may be this is part of the reason that things got so clean and white.

The Edge Of Night was the only soap-opera I ever watched, it was always on when I got home from school and my Mom was usually ironing and watching, followed it for years and it was better acted than most SOs of the time [ CBS ], but in the end it taught me what a great waste of time SOs were.

The machines at the end of the commercial

At the end of this commercial (1:25 mark) the conveyor where the guy is adding the box of Tide to each washer, is this also an AMC branded washer?    That is a very unattractive control panel, IMHO.

Kevin I think the "conveyor belt washers" were disguised?  AMC  or Beam  used that same agitator with the "crown top" in many coinops, I remember them as the older row of machines. Nice 1960's Ladies washed throw rugs  and  their husbands greasy coveralls in the older machines just as a common courtesy.
