St George has been always a slut
St George has always rebadged other appliances as their own. The late model stoves would've either been direct imports from the US, or manufactured in NZ after GMH Fridgidaire shifted appliance production over there in the mid 70's.
St George still exists, but they rebadge Euro products for cooking, and LG or Smeg clones for most of their Microwaves. They are now mainly sold through Kleenmaid dealers, who are also the kings of rebadging in Laundry and dishwashing appliances.
On all of these, that I've seen, the large oven is Fan Forced (Convection) We looked at buying the BNE one to replace Michaels mothers Elevated range, but to do so, would've involved pulling out some of her kitchen cabinets, and we couldnt convince her in time

Instead I've bought a 50's fridge thats in Sydney and identicall to the one my grandparents had for 40 years. I'll post pics when it arrives.
This sort of stove, was very uncommon here in AU. The only kitchens that usually had this much space, were those that had wood combustion stoves, or fireplaces. Otherwise most stoves were traditionally 60cm wide and square. It wasnt until the 80's when the cooktop and walloven craze took over and kitchen remodels started getting builtin appliances.
