An Electric Motorcycle!

A guy at work has one of these. I had no idea that such products were available. He has a 40-mile roundtrip commute (such distances are common here in Tucson) which is less than the 60-mile range claimed for a charge, but he keeps it plugged in while working in case he needs to go somewhere else than straight home.

It's pretty expensive (IMO). List price is $11K, he got his for $9K. Also, it has small wheels more like a scooter than a motorcycle.

I have seen

some of these around Atlanta. There are two dealers that I am aware of close by. The price seems a bit high for something that has a short travel distance. It makes perfect sense to have one these days for short trips given the high price of gasoline.

I have a 2005 honda rebel

I purchased my rebel 250 last year when gas went over $3.00,my bike gets 70 mpg and has plenty of power to ride on the streets of Tucson AZ.It costs me $10.00 a week in gas and the insurance for full coverage is $80.00 a year. This bike is easy to maintain and has been very reliable the bike cost $2600.

Haven't seen those before. What I'm seeing a lot of are those electric scooter/bikes, look more like a scooter though but you can pedal them or use pedal-assist or just let the electric motor do all the work. I think they call them E-bikes, made in China no doubt. You don't need a license or insurance for them here because they can't go over 10mph or something,, just a helmet.
