From the Seattle Times today, it's no surprise that San Francisco is #1. And way to go Seattle, Atlanta, Minnie and Boston!

I knew the girls were leaving town for warmer more hospitabl

But New York City not in the top 10?

....*sob* I'm no longer trendy.

I personally am looking forward to getting the flock out of here. ASAP!

But IS there life west of the Hudson?.. I'm still not convinced. LOL

Rochester, NY has a very pleasant gay community. I loved living there -- until I moved to ATLANTA!!!

There are some small towns in rural north GA that have an extremely high percentage of gay people, especially women.

Yeah, my town is almost bigger than SF & Oakland combined but it's so closet it's not even on the radar. Must have a whole lot of people in denial or it's the reality of the suburban landscape only being attractive to paired-off couples who aren't immersed in the subculture quite like the single ones are. Personally I don't find it necessary to hold my partner's hand when we walk around our neighborhood and we prefer to blend in, not stand out. We have enough supposedly straight and seemingly curious men cruising by our house every day who clearly know our story. I wonder what they're thinking? I always say, it takes one to know one. I wonder how they would have answered the survey?

But that report is just one more piece of data that confirms San Jose is the world's largest cow town. To its defense, it's pretty hard to compete when you're only an hour's drive south of #1 on the list.

Suprising that DC isn't on the list as well....

But then again, we don't even get to vote. Maybe we just dont matter? =)

New York's omission surprises me, especially since we have new, vibrant communities springing up every year....

The only thing I can figure out is the cost of living (but that wouldn't explain San Francisco...)

oxydolfan1....

=) NJ is pretty cool too. I have friends in Cherry Hill, actually, sometimes they come here, or sometimes I drive up to them, and we hang out in Philly, or NYC. Always a good time! DC is pretty cool. I love living here. It's actually getting nicer all the time. Lots of urban renewal going on in the city. New monuments....beautiful.

I'm up north, by Teaneck (the portion of the state currently being hammered by a bizarre storm that sounds like half of my roof shingles have been laid to waste, lol!) and I love it...more expensive then you'd think, but close enough to midtown to be manageable....

If I relocate again, it's back to Brooklyn/Queens, maybe Philly for social and financial considerations, or Montreal, because I miss it.

But Washington is hip...I was surprised when I saw Baltimore!
