Got some great add ons this week starting with the tins I bought of Ebay.

Circa 1992/3/4 Persils revolutionary Micro System.
Sadly the scop and ball from each tin has long gone but im sure if I rummaged under the Grandads kitchen sink I could find one.
You know what Nanas are like for hoarding stuff LOL!

We never actually LOST Micro because the doasge on todays "Regular" Persil is roughly the same. We just dont use a dosing ball.....
now only if my Mum could have bought a 5kg Box of Micro back in the day to keep up with us mucky kids LOL!

(think 2kg was the "family" size pack PMSL

although no dosage ball and scoop a handy pin up stain remover guide was in one of the tins.

With all the the Current Lever products on. Im well chuffed, I remember all of these products and the jewel coloured dosing balls were the best.

In fact in the loft we have the green one that my brother coated in PVA glue and glitter and hung from the Xmas tree one year.

The liquid dosage has never altered since Micro either... these LARGE 1 litre bottles contain 14 washes.
The current 1.5 litre contain 20 which works out right.

Again this was the family size and the smaller economy bottle was 500ml! imagine buying a bottle containing just enough for 7 washes. crazy....

Selfish I know but im considering washing the glitter off to add to my collection... well its put to better use with some creamy white non bio liquigel swashing around the LG on a 95*c cottons wash!

Spent a nice day getting lost on buses and mooching around Stoke on Trent yesterday where in a cheapy shop I found 3 Varietys of French Ariel!

Why Oh Why is the detergent I hate so much the only one I can find to add to a collection?
The shop usually hAS gERMAN pERSIL But not this time... anyhoos

The peach is the Non Bio version, I expected peach coloured wrappers but no its the same bloody blue ones with the same bloody UK non bio tabs in LOL!

Green is the regular Bio, again same tablets inside same UK wrapper, bit of a dissapointment.

BUT... The blue ones "Alpine", has different blue wrappers in and smells way better than the regular Ariel Bio Powder/tabs.
Lets hope they wash and rinse well.

OOO found a good Bold advert, I remember this advert well and the packaging.

Check out the other brands in the supermarket Aisle too....

Its 1.29 into the adverts

Rob - my nana still has non-bio Persil Micro tin that she pours washing powder into - it's still put to use today :-).

We used to have a Fairy one, still had it actually until we got rid of the old kitchen and it was tossed out with the rubbish before I had a chance to save it :-(.

Talking of Persil, bought a couple boxes today when I was in Wilko's... they had 2 boxes for £4 so I picked up a bio and a colour box :-).

Jon

P.S. - sorry I didn't text you back yesterday - I only have £3 credit to last me until the end of the month :-)

BTW - have you noticed that the Persil "shirt" still lives to this current day, on the instructions of the powder which tells you to sort to whites, colours and darks!

Old Powder Tins...

My mother still uses the old Ariel Ultra tin. It has been used for Ariel Ultra, Ariel Futur(e), ordinary Ariel powder, and now ordinary Daz powder. The tin is in quite good nick.

My sister still has the Radion Micro tin that I gave her when she got her first Candy automatic in 1994. She still has both the tin and the washing machine!

Do UK users remember around 1999/2000, that Ariel liquid was sold in large capacity containers that acted as tap dispensers (like boxed wine)?

Very interesting all this old packaging for washing detergents, Takes me back it bit too!

I reckon now is a good time for them to make a comeback on to the supermarket shelves don't you think?
