2011 Vacuum Cleaner Collector’s Club Convention!
As you may or may not know, the 2011 Convention of the Vacuum Cleaner Collector’s Club is going to be held in Minneapolis this year, September 15-18 to be exact. A sort-of ongoing tradition for the past few years has been to formally invite members of AutomaticWasher.org to attend our convention and festivities. We all have so many common interests that run concurrent -- that meeting up with “the other side of the family” is always a great time. This is a great opportunity to meet other people who have the same passion for household appliances!!
This year, Fred and I are the ones planning the convention in Minneapolis, and we will be having a gathering at our house on the Friday night during the convention. There will be much vacuuming and much washing going on.
Please know that you are welcome to attend, and we encourage you to attend the entire convention. Many on AW have done this in the past, and hopefully we will get a good turn out this year, as well. Normally it is required that you are a member of the VCCC to attend, but because we are all such a close-knit family; Fred and I are welcoming you as our guests.
There is a convention registration fee of $75 to attend some or all of the convention festivities – know that this fee gets you lunch on Friday and admittance to the banquet dinner on Saturday. We also have a block of rooms reserved at the DoubleTree, by Hilton, Bloomington – Minneapolis South. The rate for a room is $99 a night, and they include free breakfast each morning as well as free shuttle service to and from the airport.
Please see the link to the Vacuumland Convention page below for more details, and be sure to let us know if you have any questions. We hope to see you there… we know it’s going to be a fantastic time!
