Early 70S SQ Gas Dryer

These were heavily built dryers but not really great dryers, they were slow drying and prone to blower bearing problems, they were also a bear to work on.

The rust on the upper back was from the constant burning pilot light, the steel cabinet is actually much stronger than the SS drum but not as corrosion resistant, LOL.

The front grill inside the drum opening is installed upside down, they have the dryers light opening at the bottom.

If I remember well, the lint filter was in the door. It would be like a big round circle mesh filter that would slip in the round part of the inner door.

My sister had the Simplicity brand version of the Speed Queen. It had a baked enamel or painted grey drum. It wasn't stainless steel.
