I didn't know about Bob's situation until I called him yesterday afternoon.  Temple news is outside the Houston coverage area.  It was a shock to hear.  He has spoken in the past about his good neighbors.  I was going to start a thread but he did before I got some thoughts in order.

A section of West Adams Ave passes very near to Bob's house.  I don't know where is the location of this video in relation to it.

Roger (KD12), Pignetti's received significant damage, roof collapsed All inside were ushered to the back.

Cheeves Brothers is close by and haven't heard anyhting about them yet. These are all hisstoric buildings.

Glenn, where we ate, the address is 7036 W. Adams Ave--3-4 blocks east from where that guy's truck was most likely. but given the Tornado basically came from Lake Belton area and essentially marched east up West Adams Ave from the Belton area.

Greetings Robert:

You've been on my mind since your Kenmore thread with Glenn and Melvin. I was struck by how healthy you looked and trim!
I'm sure you'll get everything back to Bob-load perfect in no time. Warmed my heart to see Glenn so concerned for you.
You two do the club proud--always! Prayers and love to Uncle Bob.

Michael

To acknowledge all credit due ... my call to Bob (although I do call him occasionally and vice versa, and there have been visits) was prompted by an email from Magic_Clean/Leslie commenting that he had heard of storm damage in Bob's city and asking whether I had details.

Bob, I'm so glad that you personally are ok and that your house received little damage. It doesn't matter if you're in Texas, Oklahoma, or Iowa - Tornado's are terrifying.

In 2008, an EF5 decimated a small rural town, Parkersburg IA, just west of Cedar Falls/Waterloo. It too was a Memorial Day weekend tornado that traveled across three counties that Sunday afternoon. Survivors talked about the sound the funnels made, like a haunting freight train approaching. The sky was absolutely terrifying that afternoon.

I thought I'd give an update. My contractor was able to work with my insuraance company to the extent she pretty much got everything repaired, replaced. Samantha was like a bull dog. In the last month or 6 weeks I'ver had the roof replaced and carpetomg replaced. And painting completed inside. My bedroom also had walls replaced as well a ceiling repaired from a roof leak from 10 years ago. Still have a few more things to deal with.

I’m glad you’re getting it all taken care of and glad it wasn’t any worse for you! Tornados are no joke and it’s one of those things that you think will never happen to you, until it does. I’ve had two close calls in the last few years, we’ve had several tornadoes in Michigan lately and one killed 20 people recently. We were in the pathway of one a week ago today actually, it was headed right for us. Suddenly there was a burst of wind and the whole sky lit up dark green and all the power went out, I couldn’t even see outside anymore due to the wind blowing so hard with the hard rain falling and we ran to go take cover in the bathroom and I was grabbing essentials like my wallet the dogs leash collar ect, about 10 minutes later it passed thankfully. I was in the path of one two summers ago that killed five people in my area that ripped down i96. Before that happened I had three consecutive nightmares about a tornado for three months straight one nightmare a month leading up to the day of the tornado in summer of 2023. It’s insane how the subconscious tries to warn you prior to things that can and will happen.

Glad you are OK... In May 2004 my house was being built... there wasn't many homes in the subdivision at that time... but my neighbors house was already up ahead of mine. On mine, only the foundation was laid...Our subdivision is literally across the street from masterson station subdivision... my neighbors house was destroyed.. My house would have been too had it been built...it freaks me out knowing a tornado hit this spot that I'm on now... I hate severe storms... but I love just regular storms that aren't going to destroy everything.
