In addition to the Strickland/Obama showcase Clean Energy Park (enrichment/nuclear power plant) in Piketon, Ohio, GE announced it is beginning construction on a test loop for its new laser uranium enrichment plant.

The full fledged GE plant is slated to be completed by 2013 and will be located in Wilmington, North Carolina.

If France can do it, then why not us too?

I remember seeing an utterly fabulous GE appliance ad once, obviously from the mid '50s. It showed a little line drawing of a housewife happily pushing a button on her beautiful TOL electric range, while in the background there was a nuclear power plant with lots of little atoms dancing around it, happily waiting to be sent surging through the power lines to the range elements.
