Mike and I spent the day emptying the kitchen in preparation for the contractors arriving tomorrow. We've got a long couple of weeks ahead -- can't wait to see how it all turns out! Here's the official "before" shot!

Thanks for the compliments on the old kitchen - it looks better on screen than in real life. The old cabinet boxes were not in great shape - starting to delaminate too.

Actually, no!
Nothing hidden under and/or behind the old cabinets! Here's an artists rendering of the same view of the demo photo. The new cabinets will go almost to the ceiling - there's crown moulding at the top.

Progress! All of the lower cabinets are in - now we can get the quartz counters ordered! The room is all wired for the new appliances and lighting too. Cement board ready for tile backsplash - can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

What a difference a week makes -
All of the cabinets are in - along with the dishwasher, fridge and oven/micro combo. The undercounter lights were installed today. What a difference!

What a difference is right! The use of two colors in the cabinetry is really nice, breaks up the smaller space making it feel larger. Makes me want to remodel again!

It does feel bigger! The new lighting has helped a lot too.
We're in the home stretch now. This Thursday the counters are going to be installed. Glass tile on Friday and the floors get their spruce up on Monday!
