Hi Guys

This Oz made Westinghouse came up at the same time as the 1958 Simpson Fluid Drive. Not as exciting as the Simpson but considering it only cost me AU$40.00 and is still in working order, i couldn't resist.

It's a self heat, suds save model.

Cheers
Leon

You guys spell *funny* in Australian......

*WOW* good for you!

Notice the fill selections switch"

"NORMAL" and "COLD + HEAT" selections!

Ain't that culturally ambiguous!

Hey Leon,

Wow, that looks really cool, it'd be interesting to see how hard it is to install a fluro again :) Is this from Interstate? The control panel is awesome, it looks so much more like a classic than the later ones.

Steve, the Normal or Cold plus Heat, Normal means you get the pre-programmed hot and cold fill depending on what cycle you select. Cold plus heat, means that all cycles fill with cold water and then pause to heat.

Fluro Light installation...

Hey Nathan

Thanks! Don't worry....i was thinking the exact same thing too about re-installing a fluro, after all, the housing is still there. This one came from a washer repairer in NSW.

Oh...and Toggles.....what do you mean we spell "funny"? We spell the CORRECT "Queen's" english here in Australia!!! Lol hehehe

Spelling Bee

That's quite interesting really ... who'd have thought the buttons on an old washing machine could so nicely encapsulate the major differences between UK and US English spelling. Programme/Program, Fibre/Fiber and Colour/Color. Now where's an example of the s/z problem?

Cheers, Nick

What a beautiful machine

I just saw this. What a beauty! I particularly like the blue agitator. My Aunty has a later model of this and I used to love watching it. I wonder what you have in store for us next?

Memories

Hi Leon,
This brings back memories of Mum's model, although hers was a later model than this one, however I see they still used the famous "Spiral Ramp" agitator.
If I am not mistaken I think these were the first to use a safety lid lock in which actually locked the lid down during operation, not just stop the machine when the lid was lifted.
Enjoy your machine.
Steve.
