That's very interesting, I'd not seen this one. It's also a lot closer to home for me but a lot more expensive than the other one. The questions now are whether it's earlier or later in production and what electric cooker the replacement timer knob has come off LOL. I also see that where mine says De Lux Model in tiny letters this one proclaims manufacture in the Republic Of Ireland.
The one thing that did get me excited (sad I know!) is the fill hose in the wash tub has a Supatap adaptor on it, where the two wings fold up around the lugs on the outside of the tap and the rest then turns with the tap. You might just be able to make out how it would fit on the attached pic of the hose I got with my machine hung over my Supataps. One of those would be really handy for me.

though I think I prefer the white.
I also notice the hole in the washtub lid is off set, could this be a for the drain hose to sit in so the constantly running pump doesn't empty the tub, with maybe as Ian said his has a centre hole and possibly the drain hose had a spring loaded bung on the end as I remember a 70's Philips having.

I'd not thought about that with the lid, guess I was too excited about the tap adaptor!
I did notice that the hose and cable storage look better than the four plastic blocks mine has (if you look at the pic I posted one is missing) and if the mains cable is original its a bit beefier than the blue stuff on mine.

... it might have come from the Novum factory. It appears that Duomatic machines were sold as 'Novum' in Ireland. And probably vice versa.

I know on the rolls rapide, the economy of only 2 swivel castors, I assume the same on the duo-matic, like the cable storage, it's these details you start to see how production costs were reduced. And the control panel is really thin plastic compared with the aluminium on the rolls.
It's a shame we can't make out the end of the wash drain hose, but I don't think there could be a valve on the end as far as I can see.
Oh and yes I do think the impeller would run at 1450rpm, they would need to as they are much smaller and smoother than the Hoover pulsator.

Isn't it just the case, that you simply hook the washtub drain hose over the back of the machine, directly into the washtub, or poke it through the lid hole (with the lid rotated so that the hole is at the back)?

I think you're right about that drain hose it doesn't look like there is anything on the end of it, it must have just hooked back over and through the lid. Odd thing on mine is if the wash hose was the same bore as the spin hose it would be took big to go through the hole in the wash tub lid!
I'd not thought about the size of the pulsator and just assumed that 1450 rpm would be a bit fast, thinking about it now you say that 450 does seem a bit on the slow side. I'll have a look again next time I tip it over.
Looking again at the pics above I wonder if one of the four rubber bobbins the spin motor hangs on is broken and that's what is pulling the spin can out of line.
And I've just noticed another cheapening feature, the spin can mask plate is only held in with one screw at the front where as the one I have has two screws! I'll get me anorak........

In any case, be careful of these machines. Which? of the time was quite scathing regarding the electrical safety of the Duomatic machines.
It's funny how 1 machine comes along and then another so quickly.
That spinner definitely looks iffy, those rubber mountings used to perish quiet quickly, when the machine was not being used.
The blue spinner drum looks quite nice, haven't seen that before.
I pulled out a few bits from the "Rolls" file over the weekend.

Apparently the Rolls 'Electromatic' models had a tendency to flood kitchens.
The Rolls 'Starmatic' models exploded due to wiring faults in the motors.
The Rolls '66', 'Rapide' and 'Concorde' generally had the problems ironed out.
Though I did mention the exploding machines to my mum. She remembers as a girl, that when my gran had her Rolls 'Rapide' machine ordered up by her brother, my gran was told by her brother not to use it on delivery, that a service engineer had to call to check it over/make an adjustment. Supposedly a batch of the machines had some kind of fault. What it was I do not know. (Did the 'Rapide' have a spinner brake when the lid was opened? Maybe it was this that needed adjustment?)

Rolls TT.Must have been early 60s as i was just a small boy [about 6 or 7 ] Mum only used the thing a few times before it broke down Dramatically I know i was there .Mum was using the machine when suddenly smoke started coming from underneath then there was one almighty bang and mum fell backwards banging her head on the gas stove .I was terrified [thought she was dead] and ran out into the street [my gran lived three doors down ] When we got back my mum was alright but absolutely livid .Many years later after my gran had died i found out what happened to the Rolls apparently gran and my mum marched into Clydesdales [thats where the machine came from] told the man behind the counter what happened and demanded a full refund .By all accounts he hummed and arred a bit .thats when gran dragged him over the counter by his tie and lamped him needless to say the Rolls had gone by the time i came home from school.A couple of days later i got in from school again to find a brand new Hoovermatic in the kitchen
