Somehow I think the decimal place was stuffed up and it should be GBP5.00

Send the seller a message and very politely let them know they are never going to sell it if the REALLY expect to get that price for it!
I've actually done that a few times (mostly for ads posted on Craigs List here in the US.).
The last one, the seller was asking $1000 for a (granted it was very nice) Maytag wringer, which would normally sell for $50 to maybe $200. I actually did ask "Are you sure you didn't put the decimal point in the wrong place?" and then proceded to nicely explain why I asked.
I did not get a reply, but then I didn't expect to.

I'd noticed the seller had bumped it up to £50, which I thought reasonable, but where did they get £500 from?
I'm sure it's not the "only fully working example left in the country (or world?)" either. I suspect that this machine is gonna keep appearing on ebay for a while...

Last time I looked at this machine on ebay, I think it was below £50 and had something like 1 day to go.
Seems to me NT-DIRECT must of won the machine, and now selling at a daft price.
Wonder if the machine is made of solid gold, lol.

I read the description on Ebay.
It is £500. Its actually written as Five Hundred Pounds.
Also, it states that it could be the only one left in the world !
What a sales pitch !

This is the third re-listing, it was on originally for £10 with 9 day to run, a UK collector had a bid on it and then another UK collector (who seems to like contacting sellers and telling them all about it, usually gets them upping the price)gave him info and he pulled the sale without contacting the original bidder!!! It was then re-listed last week starting bid £50...!!!
The original bidder made contact and subtley (NOT) told the seller what he thought of his antics. The seller when questioned also confirmed who the collector giving info was!! (usual person - cant have it for himself so he makes sure no other collector will get it either)
and there we have it, seller thinks he`s on to a winner, when probably wont get any other business!!

That is not right, the person who tries to get other peoples chances of gaining a collectable to nil is a jealous person. Probs- cant see any one elses good or benefit etc.
I hate that, if someone did that to me i'd hate it too!

My mum had the model before this machine, and that was sometime back in the 1980,s.

I fully appreciate how naive i sound saying this but i really hope the "Collector" sabotaging the auctions isn't one of ours.....It goes against everything this site stands for.
I always really like the threads about UK Ebay, and what i like even more is the commoradary between you guys when a great find comes up, the way you all check you're not stepping on anyones toes in bidding, the offers of help when it comes to storing or transporting the machines for each other is something you rarely see and i know of no other site that has that....."quality" i guess.
Whether or not the person in question should be named....hmm, i'm not sure it would be the most constructive thing to do, maybe they should heed this as a warning and back off, on the other hand, it would be interesting to know who it is, lol.

I know where this place is, its just over the water (through the tunnel) from me. I noticed that machine aswell the other day for 50 quid and now its a whopping 500 with 150 postage. He needs to be more realistic with his prices as i noticed he has an indesit washer on there for sale for 160 but they only do a returns if not happy within 7 days, seems a lot of money to take a chance on a machin that is only approx 230 to buy new...
