Hey Guys

Im just doing this post for my fellow Kentish collector Matt (Hotpointguy) as he is without home internet at the mo!.

This was rescued on its way to the tip- a drain hose and a door gasket later here it is :)

Have you still got your electrolux insight? Hows it going through normal washing, rinsing and spinning?
This machine looks great and has the newer drum than on the logics. the same drum was used on newwaves, soft and classica (i think) i know the paddles are the same.
Great pics.

Great stuff Seamus

I take it you have become the guardian of this machine?

MY GOD - its still WHITE!!!
Very rare to find one in such good visual condition as, as you already know, they tended to get a tad yellow.
Also, every machine i have seen of this ilk has (particularly those on ebay), how do I put this politely, been not very well cared for!!!
Being impolite - seemingly been owned by scum , who have driven the machine into the ground mechanically, and then taken a hammer to the facia and bodywork, all finished off with a decent helping of grime to finish!

On the assumption that you have adopted it - keep her going and cover that facia up! Treat it ike a Vampire - sunlight will kill it.

Great find and congratulations.
Seems like its Ecologic Month at the moment - you with the A3950 and me and Rob with the A3960.

Hi Seamus, these are great basic machines, I have an 800 and a 1000 but neither has as good a facia as yours. Whilst for me a true hoover has a square door,I especially like the use of the old proud door glass bowl, in the round door machines, giving that clean angled waterline. Ok I love all the hoovers lol.

:)

Thanks for the Compliments guys- this one actually belongs to Matt although I sourced the parts it needed for him. It is a fantastic machine that I initially thought was an exclusive to Currys, but according to the info I have was a standard national model.

Its just looking for a dryer to go with it ;)

EcoLogics..

Nice work there Matt & Seamus, I love those turquoise baffles, and we still have the "By Appointment to Her Majesty" still center place...these machine where simple & stlish, made to do their job and last!!! enjoy washing!!!

I dont know what to suggest about storing, it does appear to be "Classic White" whereas my ComputerEcoLogic is almost brown beige!!! and this was in a fitted cupboard, behind a door all its life so the sunlight thing doesnt hold in this case, I think its the bromide in the plastic reacing with age..

Hotpoint95622

I had one, it was the first machine I paid for out of my Saturday job at the age of 16 or 17 the 800 spin and it was trouble from the start, first load and the pump would not work so the engineer came out and had to remove the guard covering the pump, then the release part of the timer got stuck in so you could not turn it, the door trim fell off and the door seal split on the moulding seem, all in the first 12 months. And then the amount of noise was out of this would, both doors shut and you could here the bloody thing spin, so that put me off Hoover. I gave it to my dad thinking he would put it in his trusty skip, but he used it for 3 more years till it had a catastrophic bearing failure and the drum ripped the tub to bits.

OMG MIKE! How i wanted a Computer Ecologic! Jealous much!
Hope your well! I am rather keen to see the machines either side of it too:D

Seamus: A family friend and friend from schools mum had the round door ecologic! I thought it was a cracking machine! It served them well!!

Computer Ecologic?

Hello collectors,
just wondering why you guys value the Computer Ecoloics more than the normal timer driven ecologic's. Not reliability?, or is it that they are rarer?.

I hav'nt seen a white one like yours Seamusuk for years!

Very old thread I know, but just have to add that the Ecologic 1000 in the first photo is exactly like the one in our rented house, shared with two work colleagues, from October 1993 to when I left after getting married in December 1998. Great happy memories from those carefree 5 years, young and carefree with our only worry was where and when was our next pint coming from! This was a brilliant washer, coping with soccer kit and hiking gear without a bother. Good memories seeing this washer.

very nice EcoLogic there, in regards to build dates, March 1993 wasn't exactly a late model even though the New Wave/Classica models had launched then, some EcoLogic's continued as budget models/shop exclusives until around mid-1994. :)

Forgot to add in prev post that we were the first tenants in the house after the landlord refurbished the kitchen, so our Ecologic 1000 washer would have been purchased brand new late October 1993.
