There's no need to raise the temp if dishwasher performance is good.

You can raise it temporarily when you want a higher temp for a load of clothes but of course there's waiting time while the tank heats up.
 
I remember those fancy Sears Homart (and possibly other brands) water heaters of the 1950s that had a big thermostat knob on the outside of the tank to raise the water temperature for laundry day. I agree with Glenn about the water temperature.
