Yes, we have the same model..
But ours was allot less beat up looking, though it still needed work.
Word of warning: if you are considering going after this unit, strongly suggest you question the seller about the pump. Even if he/she says it works well, count on it leaking. If it turns out not to be the case you won't be upset, if it does you'll know what to do.
How would you get the unit shipped if the seller won't pack?

seller reconsidered shipping for me...
I emailed an inquiry, he reconsidered and recommended a shipper so I don't know why he listed no shipping. I don't understand why some listers specify 'no' when someone may be willing to pay for it. I am now debating cost of shipping b/c of the weight; would you guess this to weigh about 80 lbs? Given the age the pump is likely to need attention???

Our twinne only costs $30, but shipping was $140. IIRC these machines weigh in at about 100 pounds or so. If going to be shipped I recommend either a pallet or strong washing machine shipping that will keep the wheels safe. Ours arrived with a wheel or two poking through the box which were damaged.
On the lighter side, if the unit is well packed, it can be sent via UPS. Aside from the wheels, ours arrived via UPS with no problems.
You might wish to check out the other Hoover TT auction I posted as well, to compare units.

Another common problem with the metal tub twinnies is that the tub can develop leaks at seams.

My first washer!
Hello! I'm the proud new owner of a Hoover twin tub... Got it home and it's such a fun little machine (and looks fabulous with my Hoover collection)! It was only about an hour away from Milwaukee, so I decided to go for it. Yes, the pump has issues (so I've deduced from reading the above postings, and my experience this afternoon). I add water to the wash side, and both sides fill up. Here are some pcitures!

AND it fit in the trunk of my car...
I drive a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis...It fit beautifully in the trunk for the trek from Lake Geneva to Milwaukee!

Hi Fred and Jeff, Congratulations Fred on your new toy. It looks like you guys are having a lot of fun!! I used one of these machines for the first time at the Omaha Appliance convention. To another, congrats and many happy laundering.
If your pump leaks, pick up some "wee-wee" pads and slip them under the pump area. Have found they hold water like Hoover dam and make clean up after twin tubbing easy as pie.
Great snaps, by the way. OUr units are about from the same period but mine had the shorter fill hose. My fill hose broke apart (it was left folded over and guess the rubber just creased through), but this is small beer as use a regular washing machine hose with a quick connect adaptor on the sink end.

Hoovermatic's are fun, and here in the UK they were the top selling twin tub for over 10 years or so during the late 50's and 60's. You mention that the spinner side of the machine is filling up with water...this usually means that that small valves inside the multi-pump have come loose...hence the water if flowing from the washer into the spinner..!!
These valves are still available in the uk..only problem that can arise when replacing the valves is that where the pump hasn't been opened for so long, that they can start leaking if they are not re-sealed properly.
In the UK we had a very similar model as yours, but the only difference was that the emptying hose plugged in the top of the wash tub, and wasn't permantly connected.

This is a rather nice machine, and one which all UK collectors are eager to find, its about the only model any of us dont have!!!
The pumps are the weakest link but easily sorted, I sent one out to Scott who will be fitting it soon in its new abode in Arizona...Scotts is a later model rather like Gregs...

I agree this is a neat little washer, and so much fun to use! I also own one too, it just hasn't arrived in Chicago yet, or shall we say I haven't figured out how to get it from San Diego to Chicago just yet. Thank goodness I have a good friend out there watching over it!
Now if anybody has any suggestions at all about shipping methods or shippers, that would be awesome.

Well packed they can go via UPS,which is how mine was delivered. However would strongly advise a strong flooring to the crate/boxes to prevent the wheels from poking though during transit and becoming damaged.
I'd also have the item "double-boxed" if not using a strong crate to provide strength and buffer room from UPS "rough-handling". Make sure to insure the item for full value and you should be good to go.
You can easily get a rate quote from UPS's website by entering in the measurements of the washer (add a few inches for the box and packing material). IIRC someone posted a link to a vintage Hoovermatic brochure which listed all measurements including weight and height. Plug the numbers into the UPS website along with shipping from and to zip codes, and "volia" you have a UPS shipping estimate.
