Last night we were having dinner with another couple, and some friends of theirs from Charleston, SC (a chef and a horticulturalist) with whom they had recently made acquaintence. We were all standing in our mutual friends' recently remodeled kitchen, and one of the new friends (the chef) began talking about the new kitchen appliances. I chimed in (of course), and my husbear rolled his eyes and said, sotto voce, "He's an appliance fanatic, beware". The other half of the new couple said "..Oh my God!, so is this one!", referring to the fellow who had started the conversation.
He continued, "..His idea of fun is watching the washing machine!" The chef blushed; I grinned broadly, and said, "Oh, do I have a group of friends for YOU to meet"! He said (as I'm certain most all of us have)..."You mean, I'm not the only one?"
Quoth I, "Oh, bring your wine glass and come into the living room with me, and let me tell you all about an internet group known as 'Automatic Washer.org'." He said, with his captivating brown eyes widening, "...you mean there's a GROUP of people out there that feel the same way I do?" He typed the address into his I-Phone as fast as he could, while I just smiled like a new Daddy.
So, quite soon we'll welcome to the fold another AW member from the dear ol' South.
