Today, my 17 year old Silky Terrier - Pooky - died peacefully after suffering from demintia and a very bad gum infection. He was a trooper till the end. I spent last night with him in my arms saying my Goodbyes. The experience brought back my sadness for losing my Dad in May of this year. My other dog Max (beagle mix) has been like velcro on me. So if you have a buddy like Max or Pooky, give them an extra hug today.

My Condolences Joe:

Joe, I'm sorry to read about your loss. Know that you've certainly got a lot of support here in the Appliance Club. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My Cat is getting up in age {13-1/2years old} now and even though she is in pretty good health, you just never know what or when something might happen. Fortunately, she is totally an inside Pet and has never ever been outside the house, except in her Pet Carrier and that's even been quite a long time now.

Peace, Blessings, Prayers, Love of Friendship and Hugs, Steve

Sorry about your Pooky Joe. It's not been a good pet week here either as I had to put down my old Parker (14) a week last Friday. I never expected it to affect our other dog Ben (4) but he's been so listless and mopey that I ended up taking him to the vet yesterday just in case it was something else.

Sorry to hear this Joe & Max. This is a time for both of you to support each other.

My partner and I stopped by the Humane Society yesterday since we were in the area. There were a couple of good boys I would have taken home right then and there but had to be strong and tell myself it's not the time yet. When you find the right time, there will be the perfect companion for you and Max waiting at the animal shelter.

Ralph

Sorry For Your Loss

My pets are more than just pets. They are my children, and the loss of one hurts. Pooky is in a better place now.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I gave my two dogs an extra hug today, and told them that I love them. Got lots of kisses and a little nip. Cody likes to nip my nose (gently) when giving kisses.

Joe I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know exactly what it feels like to lose a pet/friend. I have lost two, and I miss them both terribly. I hope that Pooky did not suffer in his last hours. He is now at peace.

God Bless
James

I am so sorry to hear of this development. It always hurts when you lose a furry family member. Please accept our deepest condolences. Seventeen years old is quite old for a dog. I am positive that he had a happy life with you.

My condolences to you, I am a pet owner too im so sorry to hear this. Well we all know that all dogs go to heaven, you will see him there.

I never had a dog as a kid, and I only had my first cat as a rescue (so she would not be put down) when I was an adult.

Even thoguh I did not know the love of an animal in my youth,
I am pleased to report that my partner's dog loves me (she's MY bitch now, ok?) and that his cat recently saved our @$$e$. A toilet in the basement was running all night long (the flapper in the tank did not re-seal the opening) and the sewage pump/lifter could not keep up. What a flood!

Neither of us heard the water alarm (well actually I thought my ears were ringing and that it would stop, *LOL*) and the dog who hates smoke alarms didn't budge for the water alarm. So Miss kitty prevented a much bigger mess by alerting me!
She cried up a storm to let me know!

Bless their innocent and loving hearts. They are SO smart!

We have "family" time on the sectional sofa where the four of us recline and watch television. Miss kitty sits on my chest with her face within inches of mine. I have to wonder soemtimes why she shoves her @$$ in my face...but that is a whole other tangent, now isn't it?

Joe, I feel for your losses. A rapid healing to you!
