I do think the officer overstepped his bounds
by calling his wife and then she reporting the incident. If there were no formal charges then the "incident" should not have happened.
Though I am sure the assuptions we all jumped to are correct; there is the possibility that the Dear Ast. Atty General was giving the wee lady a ride to the cemetary to visit the grave of her Dearly Departed Ssainted Grammy. He was consoling the poor lass, who was overcome with greif, when the police came upon them. Fearing what the incident may look like to the fuzz, he choose to flee the situation, much to his own demise but only to prevent someone from calling the young lass unsavory names.
Ok a little far fetched, but plausable. Let's send this one to Mythbusters.
