They are asking $200 OBO ("restored models sell for $1000+"). It does not cool. Actually the ad says "runs well but does not cool" - Uhmm, if it doesn't cool, is it really running well? I offered $25.00 if it is complete (drawers, shelves, etc).

I guess they don't realize how much time and money it can take to restore one to get that "$1000.00" fridge - then try to find someone who will pay you the $1000!

My '55 Frigidaire, counting materials (paint, sandpaper, primer), chrome plating, door gasket, etc. will run about $600 to restore (the chrome is the most expensive part).

Selling a 'fridge that doesn't cool is like selling a dead dog. Looks good, but has a limited market.

When one of the local towns had a "spring clean up", where people would put their large items by the curb for city pickup, I can't remember how many times someone sitting on a porch would tell me "that refrigerator works, it just doesn't get cold enough!" Or "that washer works, it just doesn't spin the water out".....

The seller sent me a photo of the interior and said he thinks everything is there. There are no drawers in the photo. He also said a couple of people are offering $50. I'll let them have it.

"Runs well but does not cool" that is precious. I have a similar model, and it works, and is near mint. I'd love $1000 for it. But I will be waiting a long time. LOL Some guy up here posted a Plain Jane Magic Chief stove from the 30's for $750! More like $100 if you are lucky. Matt
