Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yes and the base of the machine is different as well, so I agree then it's not '60.

Maybe it is a '58 model then, the '59 model had the same controls but reversed according to the catalog.

Thanks a million for posting....

....the pic of the 60 Sears line up Greg. It's a treat to see my 60 featured below the LK model.

Dryer

My grandmother had a Kenmore Dryer, she bought new in 1959. It looked a bit like the one in the picture, but the Timer was on the right, no mistake. It had regular cycle with maximum of 50 minutes and wash-n-wear with 40 minutes, last 10 were cool down. The temperature selector was a small gold knob on the left, with 5 heat selections.

YAY!! Thanks for posting the pics of the '60 lineup, Greg. There's the Model 80 my parents had from 1960-1984. It was still working when I moved home after my parents passed. I was so sick of using the machine I'd grown up with that I replaced it with a new Whirlpool.

Wish I'd had the AW gang to talk some sense into me, LOL! Of course, I got rid of a '59 LK foundling (never used!!) when I moved, so I made the same mistake twice...
