Another possible vintage score for me??

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Brandon, I could never understand why the Maytag dryers were always wider than the washers! I have an older GE that is like that, too... But what the heck - they look great!! Thanks for your comments!!!

I think I have an issue with the water inlet solenoid in the washer. When the 'HOT' button for the wash water temperature is pressed, no water flows into the washer and when he 'WARM' button is pressed, the water flows, but really, really slowly.

Check the screens on the water valve. They're probably just clogged.

Would this part still be available??

Been NLA for a while, but they're still out there. The common 205613 non thermo water valve can be easily adapted to work. It's a direct bolt on.

The door gasket on the dryer is pretty rough. I will have to look for a replacement there, too.

Those are getting mighty hard to find now, but can still be had with some research and patience.

Is the drum light burned out on the dryer or is it just the camera angle?

Most certainly a really nice set!!

INLET VALVE PROBLEMS

Larry @ Modern parts still had the three coil thermostat inlet valves not long ago I bought several of them. The valve you have may be repairable, first check the screens but this is almost never the problem. [ Never remove the screens from the valve for cleaning unless you are replacing them, they get bent very easily and they won't fit well when you try to reinstall them and dirt may get around the edges and cause the valve to stick open and the washer will flood] Just gently loosen the dirt and flush or blow it away from the screen. For no filling at all check the valve coils they do go bad and can be replaced easily and for any machine thats this old all three valve diaframes should be replaced. This is quite easy to do and Larry still has the kits to do this.

You are not going to believe this...

but I found a NOS 3-solenoid valve AND and a NOS dryer door gasket!! I swear I have horseshoes up my a.....nyway....
I think it is the fates saying, 'These appliances were MEANT to be saved by you'!! I am just thrilled to bits, sorry for gushing....

Lint filter

Tim, you wouldn't believe it - it looks wonderful! I showed it briefly in one of the videos that I have posted as part of this thread. It's stainless and still bright, shiny, and clean as a whistle!! I can always take more pictures, too...
