Senator John Ensign (Nevada) was forced to admit today that he'd been cheating on his wife for some time now.
Yes, dah-links, this would be the same pig who voted for the Federal Amendment to deny gays marriage and who calls us amoral and unChristian, et cetra, pp, ad nauseum.

No doubt we'll have the traditional video in a few minutes of his wife dutifully standing three steps behind him and saying that their marriage is strong and she forgives him, 'cause he's prayed to Gawd and all is right again.

She pops up every few months to balance my otherwise Democratic tendencies.

Seriously, the Republicans are such hypocritical jerks. They oppress us in the name of their christianist Gawd because two men or two women wanting to commit to each other for life is unthinkable for them.

Well, actually, maybe it is unthinkable for them - they all seem to be too busy cruising airport bathrooms, underage pages and women to whom they aren't married.

What a filthy pig this guy is.

Ensign's wife was not at his side during Tuesday's news conference (though she issued a news release saying she and her husband were working things out and that their marriage was strong).
It should also be noted that John Ensign was one of many Republicans who called for President Clinton to resign following the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and also called for Larry Craig to step down after his bathroom stall faux pas.
The one thing Ensign has going for him right now is that he's not up for reelection until 2012. Compare Ensign's plight to another top Nevada Republican, Governor Jim Gibbons, who is suffering from low approval ratings, a messy divorce and a resurgent Democratic party.
Ensign will survive this scandal IMHO; the conventional wisdom is that Gibbons will be out of office in early 2011.

Now, in an attempt to briefly move away from chatting about the hypocritcal, finger-pointing, holier-than-the-(former-Nazi)-Pope Neocons, I thought I'd ask if any of you NYC theatre goers have seen the new production of "Thank You for Being a Friend-The Musical?" The old "broads" in the photo are Sophie, Dorothea, Blanchet and Roz. Looks like no expense was spared for the props and scenery. You lucky East-Coasters get all the culture.

I find it rather interesting that you jump all over the Republicans that screw the Gay and lesbian community, but don't hold the Democrats responsible when they don't deliver on their promises. There is an interesting thread posted on this site that Laundress posted about Obama. Would love to hear you input. That is, if you are capable of not being biased.
 
Oh, and by the way

Our President and his administration, are still denying gays the same marriage rights.

A little known tid bit about the Senator is he became a born-again Christian and he and his wife, were active in the Promise Keepers, an evangelical group. A Promise Keeper is committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical and sexual purity.

Guess the hypocrite failed that test! I hope he resigns.

I have mentioned on several occasions that the Democrats are only marginally better than the Republicans.

The difference between the two parties is, however, that we have some (if minimal) chance of achieving human status with the Democrats.

The current Republican party has given itself over lock, stock and barrel (yes, I know the referent) to the christianists.

What do you want? The perfect is the enemy of the good. We are talking here about people who have gone out of their way to hurt us and people who try to buy our votes.

Given that it's the only game in town, I'd rather whore myself out to the Democrats than submit to the christianists.

You have to remember - I have lived in a country where gays and transgender enjoy full human status now for many years. Including conservative administrations. Of course I am critical of the Republicans - they are the ones actively attacking us.

I'm sure this is all being carefully managed, the other woman and her husband both work for Ensign. He'll lay low for a while, then be reborn....until the next time, apparently this wasn't his first straying. He'll give enough money to the church to be cleansed...
