Another strange Monarch product I want!!!

I never heard of such a thing, but leave it to Monarch,...a built in roaster, or as they called it, a "Surface Oven", has anyone ever seen one!

Basically..

Its the same roaster built into some of their ranges, I have just the place for this if I could find one.

Now that's cool!   120v 15A would be easy enough to work into a kitchen plan.  There's enough oddness factor to make it worth the real estate.  Load it like a washer and turn the dial, dinner's done.

Be handy, I have several roasters that I love, they just take up so much counter space...this would be perfect!

We always kept ours on a utility cart. You would think that, with as much space as the mounting flange for the control panel took, they could have included a clock and timer for automatic stop-start operation or at least timing the operation. If you wanted to make use of the counter where this was located, you would have to keep it covered so that the recess around the opening would not be a crumb collector plus, you would have to find a place to store the porcelain dome cover when it was not in use.

I've never seen the built-in version but, I did see a Monarch electric range at an estate sale a couple of years ago that had the range-top roaster.  The range was well maintained and it looked like all the extras were with it too.  The woman who bought the house sold the range for $200 IIRC.
