Antique GE fridge parts wanted as well as restored antique gas stove

Hi All.

I'm seeking parts for a 1958 GE Model LB-12P refrigerator, specifically a butter door, one vegetable drawer and possibly the entire plastic inner door. The Fridge is white with pinkish interior and silver aluminum interior trim. Thank you for your time!

If you have parts or know where I might look I'd be grateful. I continue to search on Ebay, Facebook, etc. I can take measurements if you need them.

I've attached a couple pics of our fridge and a page with same fridge from brochure though a different color.

I'm also looking to purchase an antique gas stove for my kitchen, 30s or 40s that is refurbished and includes safety valves. It would need to be shipped to CT.

That's a very nice refrigerator!  The pink interior color scheme was new for 1957 on the two-door Combinations, which is the type I had for almost ten years before the compressor developed a fatal problem.  I think GE kept the pink interior on the single door models for 1958 but the two-doors changed to a pale aqua.

 

Your best bet for parts is likely a donor fridge that's no longer in working order and could probably be had for free.  Harvest what you need from it and then send it off to start a new life as a Prius.

Antique Gas Range

Hi, you would be better served with something built after WW-2, ranges got better and better into the 50s through the 60s, the quality and durability was so much improved.

 

By and large the pre-war stuff did not last as long and consumers dumped pre-war ranges in droves in the 50s and 60s for the newer ranges that worked better and lasted longer and were easier to clean due to better finishes etc., When you look at the insides of those 30s and 40s ovens they were usually nothing but rust because of the poor quality finishes.

 

There are certainly some exceptions to my advice, but I think you will have better luck if you look for something closer to the age of your GE refrigerator.

I suspect that the vegetable drawer had simply gone missing before the OP took ownership, as is far too often the case with vintage refrigerators.

 

I have the opposite situation with my '52 Kelvinator.  I have both drawers, but the shelving system that suspended them is long gone.
