Any One Using Wool Dryer Balls

About a month ago I ordered some wool dryer balls on ebay. I've been using them with scented essential oils instead of fabric softener, and I have to say I am very pleased with the way they work. The clothes dry faster, with virtually no wrinkles, and the scented essential oils give a very faint fragrance. Also, the towels dry better because they aren't coated with fabric softener. The scent that I found I like best so far is called Purify, and is a blend of Bergamot, Lemongrass and Geranium. I've also tried Lavender and Sweet Orange. I just sprinkle a couple of drops on each ball (there are 6) and throw them in with each load. I only have to apply the oil once a week. It does stain the balls, but otherwise has no adverse effect on the clothing and linens. I don't think I'll ever use fabric softener again.

They are about the size of tennis balls and are made of wool yarn and covered with felt.

Looks like that tennis ball idea but purposely made for the job. I never tried the tennis ball thing. I can't remember. Was that to keep things from wading up in the dryer?

Throw an old pair of tennis shoes in the COIN OP  with your pillows and mattress pad.  Wash and dry. The shoes will really poof them up.  I do not know anything about essential oils.  I hear a lot of buzz about Tea Tree.

Tea Tree oil is a naturally sourced from the Australian Tea Tree. It has natural antibiotic and anti-fungal properties. It's great for brushing your teeth when mixed with some baking soda and made into a paste. Especially when used with an electric toothbrush. I use it this way and also brush my gums and tongue. Your mouth will have a wonderful clean and fresh feeling. I haven't found anything that works better. It's great for skin ailments too. As far as laundry goes, I haven't found it necessary.

I too like tea tree oil. I once worked in the natural foods industry for a number of years and it was one of a few "wonder" product additives that stood out....as in, "i wonder if it actually does anything."

I've read that many people like to use Tree Tea oil on their dryer balls for drying linens. I haven't tried it for this yet. I really like the faint scent that the essential oils leave on the towels, much nicer than fabric softener. And the linens, towels and clothing don't get any waxy build up this way. I'm glad Igave it a try.

Australian Tea Trees are commonly found in these parts, as often in old established yards as recently landscaped ones.  I was unaware of the benefits from them.  I've always admired them, but they get too large and I've never had enough spare room in any of my yards.
