My W1918 has developed a leak. Since these things are built like Fort Knox, does anyone have any service info, from the basics like how to crack it open to electronic diagnostics? Thanks!
That's just it, I don't know. I will have to pull it out and figure out how to get into it. But it is a slow leak from underneath. Seems to happen in the second half of the cycle (reprogrammed very high water level rinses and the leaked water isn't soapy).
I've attached a few files in the link below. Miele machines are actually pretty easy to get into assuming you have metric/torx bits.
As for the leak, it's a washer There are many possibilities and there aren't many electronic tests. Open the top/front/bottom and see if you can see where the water comes from. With luck, it will be obvious, i.e. a torn hose or or a clamp that has slipped, and you won't need to watch while it runs.
Peter, I can't answer where the leak is coming from, but if you take the 4 bolts around the detergent dispenser off, then the 3 around the porthole, you can open the front up, it will swing open like a door to the right. Be sure and push the release tab located at the bottom of the machine on the left side, reaching under the machine. Once open, you can see all under there.
