Well, not as creepy as Manhattan's Limelight which was a chruch that became a disco/bar/club. Notrious for drugs and naughty (public) activities.

The str8's had the main church and the 'mos had the converted chapel and living quarters. Mo's entry via basement and up some back stairs. I was not too fond of the gay events labeled as "res-erection" and the "lick-it lounge" [MEOW]. Took me years to work up the nerve to go there. It was a respect thing as well. Yes, I caved towrds the end of its life.

I dare not post a link, but Googgle it (Limelight Manhattan) and read! OMFG!

LOL what utlity bills?

My sister dated a guy whose parents were nouveau-riche.
He asked which bathroom (and wing of the house) was the "family" section. [He was so down-to-earth he was]Apparenty one still only uses a few rooms in a mansion. The rest is for show. We said "It's ok use that one (bathroom). What we meant was "That is the ONLY bathroom."

Luckily he never asked to see the other "wings" of the house. There aren't any.

LOL OMG!

The house I grew up in had a church next next door, and it was eventually sold and turned into a single family home. It wasn't even half the size as this one. I never went into it after it was turned into a residence, it just didn't feel right to me. I did see the owners doing the nasty once through my second floor bedroom window once, someone forgot to shut their blinds.

Where is this thing located? Remember in Real Estate it's location, location, location.

As for how it looks, well it looks like something you'd find on MTV's Real World. It has that kind of far out look.

What! No photos of the laundry room!

Where is it?

Actually in one of the worser (is that a word?) parts of town. Pretty close to gun alley, and across the street from knife point avenue.

They have been recently remodeling some of the old warehouses in the old town part of the city. An abandoned warehouse turned condo goes for about $300K for a loft.

I had the same thought about the utility bills - probably more than my monthly mortgage payment.

Well, have 2-1/2 baths here as well, but normally I only use one. I'll let guests use the other ones as needed, but if they're not used they don't require much cleaning.

Sorry, I didn't find it the least bit attractive or inviting, looked like a church someone had made a half-hearted attempt to turn into living quarters.

One of my cousins redid an old schoolhouse years ago. My brother came up with some really interesting floor plans that played on the various areas and had a very cozy feel. Differing ceiling heights nooks and such. Unfortunately my cousin used none of the ideas my brother presented and it turned out cavernous, much like that church. Not the pleasant home it could have been at all.

Personally, I'd love to live in an old church. I'd keep the sanctuary in tact, and being an organist, what a perfect place to practice. My big gripe is that the beautiful architecure is destroyed in the process. Churches are one of America's architectural gems. Sadly so many are closing in large cities. Boston is famous for making high priced condos out of them or tearing them down. These are not crappy little churches, but significant edifices. Personally I think they should be preserved into museum like places.
