Anybody hear of a Porter and Charles Washer/Dryer?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Its a......

Vestel made washer dryer manufactured in a new state of the art factory in Turkey...I`m just road testing one at the moment as it has the Servis badge on it in the UK, Vestel purchased the brand names after the disaterous aquisitions and mergers of the Antonio Merloni portfolio over a decade ago.

For those who know me I am "Old Servis" through and through, anything NOT out of Daralaston UK factory was most certainly to be sniffed at - BUT this piece of kit has gotten me hooked...will do a review in a seperate thread. Its a good large 9kg capacity, a one piece wrap around solid cabinet with the front panel removal for access, Cold fill, The twin jet at the top of tub is very powerful, the 1400 spin is very efficient and the dryer is great having used many this one actually leaves the clothes cool and so soft on the automated "Cupboard Dry" programmes...The water usage for wash is only 48ltrs, the 112 is for 9kg wash and dry. Residual moisture content is 53%.

Nowthen at least one of you here will have read a certain consumer groups opinion on this washer dryer and I have to say "I cant believe I`m using the same washer dryer" the reports just dont stack up...just testing "Duvet & Pillow " wash as we speak...Its not quite gotten 5 stars yet as some of the programmes IMHO need to be programmed differently ie default spin speed and temperatures etc - but so far I`m very impressed...

Thanks

for the info Mike. I downloaded the instruction manual, and was impressed with the features. The larger wash size, water heater, and 220v hookup makes it an interesting option for us North Americans, for sure!

My daily driver is a Miele 1918, and I think I remember someone here mentioning that Miele North America no longer distributes a 220v model.

I look forward to your full review!

Guy
