Anybody know if this fan was ever manufactured?

I'm just doing a little research at the moment - does anyone here know if this fan, or any similar design, ever made it to production?

I've done as much 'googling' as I can, but without a model name or number, I'm limited in what I can search for! The assignee of the patent was Westinghouse...

Any info would be much appreciated!

I would bet its a prototype

It would be very hard to manufacture that cowling with curved holes unless it was done in layers. You couldn't machine it , you couldn't mold it. Its a cool idea!!

Actually it could be mfg using investment casting (lost wax) method, but that method tends to be rather more expensive than die casting (an individual wax mold must be made for each and every copy).
