Anybody know of this older whirlpool washer?

I’ve seen this machine in a series on YouTube and in the videos I can clearly see the Whirlpool badge on the upper left of the control panel but I’ve never seen this basic of one before....it’s clearly a late 90s cause it has the newer control panel layout but the huge wide lid also just isn’t something I’ve seen before on this late of a model. If anyone knows what model this is and where I can see more, let me know. Ironically I used to have the same exact dryer, no difference. My family bought it in the late 90s then got rid of it in 2010.

that is just a basic one cycle machine, water temps controlled by the timer, in this case, she has both lines hooked to one faucet, COLD ONLY.....one fill level as well...

and most likely a straight vane agitator...

how does that drain hose do anything the way it is stuck UP into a pipe?

You can see that model in this whirlpool laundry catalog that was posted some time ago. Somehow Whirlpool got 4 cycles out of that timer but otherwise a basic bottom of the line machine.

Interesting plumbing configuration

Look closely at Pic #2? Did you notice that not only does the washer have to pump up to the drain, but the way it's plumbed, all the water from the upper floor will drain right into the machine when it's not running, down the hose, through the pump right into the tub.

if you look closer, it is pumping up, and then goose neck towards the rear and down into the drain pipe....

it is a bit of an optical illusion...but the pic is showing it straight on, if we could get a pic from the side, you may have a better idea of the routing..

Reply #4 -- fun to bring up that 2003 brochure.  I have it saved from the original posting.  I have three of the pairs in it.  Calypso GVW9959K (although older, serial 2001).  Catalyst GSX9885J (serial 2002).  Gold GSQ9669L (serial 2003).

Yeah I knew it was a base line machine I just had never ever seen that style of one like this before and I’ve been acquired to direct drives for over a decade. This was just in a YouTube series i was watching this guy moving into his grandmas old house and thats what she bought many years ago.

That is the first I’ve ever seen as well of this type of drain and I honestly don’t understand it at all. That has to be so hard on the machines pump....
