Looks like several manufactures tried their best to copy the Frigidaire Flair. Never knew O'Keefe&Merrit had a version of it too. This is a gas stove. Don't know if any other versions of this type of sliding drawer stove were ever made in gas rather than electric. Kind of unique?

A number of years ago, my sister and brother-in-law put a bid on a house that had similar O'Keefe & Merrit stove. Both the house (and the kitchen) needed a lot of work (it was involved in a foreclosure proceeding and it appeared that the people who were losing the house deliberately caused as much damage as possible before they left), so in retrospect I'm glad that they didn't get the house. I would have encouraged them to at least try to save the stove.

I believe that Tappan made a Flair type stove too and, if memory serves, Tappan's came in both gas and electric models.

This was our's growing up

I miss this gas stove. Coppertone. Mom gave it away when she did a remodel in 1988, replaced with a Caloric. *sigh*

What a screwy place to put a photo....
Guess this stuff *happens* when Mercury is RETROGRADE....grr!

DARN! I wish that stove was a bit closer to me! My only hitch with a Flair is that they are all electric. I prefer to cook with gas myself. A Flair is the perfect piece for a mid-century modern kitchen though

They're all such nice looking stoves compared to the boring looking new stuff as are the washers. I'd love to have a Flair or Flair type in my kitchen. Was the Flair the first and these are copies or ?

Tappan in the East O'keef & merrit in the west

This is the same exact model as the Tappan FABULOUS 400! It was a beautiful range available in gas or electric and came with the wood cutting board. These were verry much like their competitor's ranges that came only with an upper oven.no base oven.Like the Frigidaire Flair, the Tppan FABULOUS 400's came in two different sizes.a 30 inch with 1 oven and a 40 inch with 2 ovens.I see them occasionally and in mint condition. The most expensive I ever saw them priced was at the "Stealvation Army"for $499.I rarely go to their establishments anymore here in Florida because they get everything free and jack the price up 5,000%They don't repair anything like they used to and dare anybody to question the reasoning for their high prices.

The Foodarama of Ranges

This is a beautiful range, but much like a Flair, you need the right room for it. My sister had a 30" Tappan Fab 400 in her kitchen which was removed and replaced with a standard 30" WP range and it made the kitchen look like it was twice as large once that range was out.
