I moved into a flat share after some unfortunate circumstances at the house where I was living and had to leave my Zanussi Jetsystem ZWH7122J which I would swap the Beko for anyway. Anyway, whilst I'm trying to sort out my situation I'm living in this house with the Beko.
I've been using the Beko for around 8 months now. This model is the WMB 5100W. I think it's a 2008 model possibly earlier as I think the flat was built 6 years ago and the machine was purchased and put in. It's used by 3 adults. I use it around once a week, the other flatmate uses it once a week too and the 3rd flatmate uses it around 2 or 3 times a week.
Some points I have observed about this machine.
It hardly uses any water. It seems to 'top up' when on the wash cycle but when it comes to the rinse cycle, even though the machine tumbles as it fills, it seemed to be a Timed-rinse so it doesn't fill for longer when washing a full cycle as opposed to a half load. I can never see any water in the drum when it's fully loaded on Cottons Rinse. I can hear the water splashing about but just can't see anything!! I wonder if it's actually rinsing the clothes properly. The only thing that impresses me is that it does 3 rinse cycles as standard and these an extra rinse function.
The machine is pretty quiet on spin cycles (quieter than the Zanussi) and there no horrible high pitched scream from it. The machine is also not overly fussy when it comes to balancing - it just gets on with the spin which is great. Sometimes it moves, but that's down to the fact the floor is a floorboard and soft which allows the machine to shake the whole kitchen.
I've checked out the reviews online and it seems to get results by consumers but I find this to be a simple no frills machine with a tiny 5kg drum. Seems pretty durable. Though the rubber seal is not thick like say on Indesits, but it does the job. A friend of mine has the same machine and loves hers, I think she's had hers 5 years.
The A@40 takes ageessss to wash but I tend to use that or the 60 degree wash. The wash cycle on cottons programme always incorporates a Distribution Phrase towards to end if the wash. I assume to drive detergent through the wash.
Any thoughts on this machine?
