This may sound a little rediculous, but, I need three Maytag agitators... #1 because I am in the process of cutting the old one out of my A208S, #2 because My step mom "broke" the one in her washer, (I don't know what happened to it, she asked how to get it out and has already thrown it out.) And #3 because I want to see if I can make my very own shaftless agitator by cutting off the top half and taking the cap from a commercial machine and welding the cap onto the base of the agitator to increase capacity and so I can do comforters!!!!! (If I can't do comforters, it'll still look REALLY cool!!!!!) I don't care if they are black or turquoise, but they must be powerfin, they cannot have the screw to hold them on and they at least one if not all have to be made for the standard capacity machine, not the large... If ANYONE can help me, I would be extremely grateful!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

If All Else Fails

You can still get them at Maytag.com. $34.99 One of the things I love about Maytags. I will at some point restore my A806. Got a new wash basket and agitator. Now just have to get that old agitator out!!

#3 wouldn't really be an agitator...more like a FrankenTator...LOL

I don't know if cutting off the central column is a great idea though, IMHO...the comforter will be fully submerged in the tub, but the question is, will it effectively circulate? In my machine, the PowerFin's agitator column helps rollover because there is something for the load to roll against, not just dead space. In a Frigidaire, even though the pulsator is providing the currents, the clothes are rolling against the "Circulator Column".

It would definitely not hurt to experiment though; I've always wondered how a postless agitator would work in an automatic with different types of washloads, and how the visual action would be...

With the "FrankenTator" as you call it, (cute!!) It wouldn't really matter if there is circulations, because of the LONG stroke, I think that would be enough just to slosh it around a lot in the water. Besides, I don't know if you have seen Robert's Maytag Wringer, it has a glass shaftless agitator, i used it on towles and it is SO COOL!!! It got great turnover and with more capacity!!!

I have some

Maytag agitators. One of which is the small one. Yes, there used to be postless agitators, and still are as a matter of fact. What about cylipso? Did you know that Maytag was the first to have this sort of action, and it started with the ringer washer you are referring to. I was not whirlpool or kenmore!
