Re: I remember Shaklee Products:

I had a Woman Friend at one of the State Offices where I worked, in the late 1970's or early 1980's who sold Shaklee Products. I used some of the Cleaning Supplies, but I don't remember using any other Product's, other than maybe Laundry and possibly Dishwashing {sink and dishwasher} washing...

I hadn't thought about their Products for quite a long time now. I might actually still have some of the Product's boxed up in my Garage or Storage Shed's...

shaklee

Can's say I heard of those..

But I miss "Amway" that sold like "Avon," via catalogs and direct to consumer. (No retail stores) I believe they were a legal version of a pyramid scheme.

Anyone know how to get "Amway" detergent?.. It is suds-free and a coffee-scoop sized scoop does a T/L load. Should work well in my F/L-er.

My grandmother used many Shaklee cleaning products as her sister was a dealer. I think she also took the Shaklee vitamins. I guess she didn't trust the Shaklee cleaners and just used them in support of her sister, because I remember when we did dishes we'd use half Shaklee Basic-D and half Finish. When we did laundry we'd fortify the Shaklee Basic-L (which was a blue powder IIRC) with Wisk. Basic-H (household cleaner) and Basic-G (germicidal cleaner) kept the rest of the house clean, and I think they were concentrates that you diluted with water. There was also a jar of Shaklee scouring paste that I saw recently at my parents' somewhere--and Grandma's been gone since 1981. (I come from a long line of packrats)

Grandma was a fanatic about cleaning--she was one of those people who sprayed cleaner in the oven after the roast came out so she could wipe it clean after dinner. Sort of like Joan Crawford if Joan had been really sweet.

I haven't seen

Shaklee in a number of years but they're probably still around like Amway, fading. I think the last home delivery truck I've seen was Schwanns ice cream with those big old yellow trucks that look like Loomis bank trucks. I think Walmart and Costco have done all those outfits in.
