Anyone here read the new Harry Potter?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I finished it a couple days ago, I thought it was a great book! It did answer a lot of questions but it left a lot more! Did Harry become an auror? What about Hermione? What about Ron? Who's the new headmaster at Hogwarts? What will happen to all the Death Eaters?

In an interview, JKR said that Harry and Ron are Aurors and Hermione is in a high position at the Ministry of Magic. We don't know who the HM is at Hogwarts.

Still didn't answer the question HOW or WHY Harry got his scar, and what's with the baby in the King's Cross station (after Harry seemingly died)? Perhaps the baby is the remains of Voldemort after his own AK spell rebounded on him.

It also seems that Wizards have also made some peace with the Muggles. Harry and Ron both learned to drive a car (with the help of using some magic on the driving examiner). So assuming that they live in the Muggle world (I wonder what kind of washing machine they have in the kitchen).

Of course, my FAVORITE part of the book is when the Order rescues Harry from Privet Drive, Tonks sits on the washing machine LOL.

great!

I got it just after midnight on my birthday. Read it and loved it.
All these idiot critics who keep writing that she should have killed Harry for literary purposes are the same jerks who criticize films made from comic book themes because they have no depth of plot.

JK did promise to write an encyclopedia of Harry's world at some time in the future. Just not "tomorrow morning".

Maye I'm dumb, but I thought the little monster at King's Crossing with Harry was the part of Voldemort's soul which had been trapped in Harry (Horcrux) and died at the same time Harry did.

Anyway, I can now read and re-read the books all my life; anyone who only reads a book once then never again 'cause they know the ending is missing a lot of the fun in life.

Let's just hope the films continue to improve...

Re-read it

three times, so far.

It is my second favourite of the seven. My favourite is Goblet of Fire.

Yes, the whimpering thing at Kings Cross is the soul of Voldemort.

I did not really need the epilogue, but most people would not have been content without it.

The person I wanted to know about in the epilogue was Luna...what was she doing..if she was running "The Quibbler," or if she had taken a position at Hogwarts.

I have heard that she may publish "Hogwarts: A History," and I hope she does.

Yeah, the little baby is Voldy's soul.

HP Theme Park: Bring it on! I want to go there.

I've already started on Sorcerer's Stone and I'm going to go through the WHOLE series of them. I plan on getting all the Audio books. Put them on mp3s so I can burn each book to a CD so I can play them in the car.

I have all the movies (1-4) and definitely will get OOP when it comes on DVD.

It's been a WONDERFUL adventure. Seems like each generation sees a great series of fantasy stories come out like, Narnia, LOTR, and now Harry Potter. I wonder what's next.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

CAUTION! DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT YET READ THE BOOK!

I finished the book a few days ago. Wow! What a rollercoaster ride of a read it was! I was furious at several points and then finally happy in the end. I think Ms. Rowling could have cut out about 100 pages or added more action in the middle of the book. I'm kind of sad to see it end; though, I think she left it open ended on purpose, just in case she decides to write a new series based on the children or Harry as an adult.

I agree that the baby that was with Harry when he "died" was likely Voldemort's soul; however, this was, as far as I can recall, never confirmed. Jasonl and Maytagbear please correct me if I'm mistaken by siting the passage from the book that confirms this. Also, Jason1, to the best of my recollection, JK did explain how Harry got his scar in one of the previous books--I'm not certain, but I believe it was explained in the very first book. As I recall, it was explained that Harry was scarred when Voldemort tried to kill him. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

In another interview,

Jo said that Luna became the Wizarding equivalent of a naturalist, and that she even wised up a bit, and now realizes that not everything her Dad says can be proved. Crumple Horned Snorkak indeed!

She did not rule out the idea of Luna and Neville marrying, but did not say positively.

This was on MSN a few days ago.

I have all the books, but listened to them on CD in the car. Yeah, the last book kinda dragged in the middle, and the last scene with Dumbledor kinda went on forever. The epilog was cute, but I wish she gave us a more definitive ideas as to what they are doing now. Neville is the only one with a certain career! But when the last CD ended, I was definitely sad that the series was over.

One good thing, for all you CD/audio book lovers, the music on the last set is THANKFULLY DIFFERENT!

She said

that Harry and Ron are Aurors, that Hermione has a high ranking position in the Legal Affairs office.

She didn't say if Ginny had an outside job, or if she was homeschooling the children, just like Molly.

Poor Snape...

I feel so sad about Snape's end... Harry was so sweet naming one of his children after him...
Anyone out there wonder what happened to Harry grandparents?
Any clue?
