Have a lead on vintage microwave but it would be just my dumb luck it is 3000 miles away. *LOL*

The thing is some town or whatever called "Arden" and wondered if some kind, altruistic or just plain in need of funds (the motives aren't as important as MOI getting my appliance *LOL*). Once the thing is in safe hands (one assumes), can begin to make arrangements to bring it out east.

TIA

Dear Hyacinth

I know agonies abound with shipping, yet I was extremely fortunate to sell and ship 17 items on ebay recently all arriving in good shape. A Farberware Turbo oven went to Florida and it was third attempt for this buyer to get one delivered in one piece. Having just remodeled there was an abundance of left over styrofoam panels 2 inches thick. I built a box, lined it with styro, inserted styro in the interior of the range to hold everything intact and then topped the box with a second. It was an ugly and ungainly package and the guy at UPS looked as if the Grapes of Wrath had just entered his shop, but the oven arrived perfectly for a $52.00 fee. After that exhausting experience I needed to ship a Mixmaster to Indiana and I was sick of packing. I inquired the cost of packaging at the UPS store and was quoted $7.00. I nearly expired on the spot to think of how much work I invested and how cheaply it could have been done for me. The epilogue is this. Could the seller take the oven to a UPS store and let them pack it? I have to wonder if "insider" shipping gets better treatment.

916 is the proper area code for the area

Launderess contacted me asking if I wouldn't mind picking it up for her... and of course I'd be happy to! But with it being 425 miles and a 6.5 hour drive from me....

It looks to be just North of Sacramento.

CALLING VERN... Strongenough78.... can you assist the wonderful Miss Launderess??

Hyacimberly (or Cimbercynth),

Sacramento is probably about a 2 hour drive from my place. If the appliance will fit into a compact car, I might be able to help. But someone who actually resides in the Sacramento conurbation might be a better selection.

Good luck!

Yes, Arden is a boulevard and a mega mall just north of downtown Sacramento. We do have members in the Sacramento area who may be able to help. I don't get up there much anymore.

Have you purchased this item?

Citrus Heights is not terribly far from the " COOL GAY REALM " ..... perhaps frontal could look into this for you......
