I would love to find a Homart belt-drive window fan and a Ma

Hey Peter, there are usually several Homart belt drives listed on e-bay at any given time. I have 2 of them and they are great fans. I also have a 1930's Westinghouse, 1950's Dayton and a 1940's window fan (don't have a clue who made it, no label) that was my grandmothers. i'll try to post some pics. Mark

I have a Vornado Silver Swan fan with a limited edition black grill. I have been using it for about 7 years now. It has been whisper quiet and is really an air mover even at low speed. I have it in my office and it is commented on by most that notice it.

Those old fans are so cool! I have several and love the hum of the GE`s the best.

Darrel, A friend had a fan like that in rough condition and I Polished the case for him, Its all cast aluminum or something like that, I painted it red between the fins on top and we were thinking about adding small led lights in the motor housint to shine tward the blades for a neat effect.

And this one is the most used fan in the house A friend gave it to me and it was completly locked up. Still has matching power cord.

The polished alum one looks very much like mine; the fins on
top of mine are in fact unpainted aluminum. Your friends may be a bit older or a higher end model, as the blade looks
like it is aluminum too, while the blade on mine is plastic.
Your polish job is definitely "trick" !

I collect fans too

Mainly box fans. I think I have 12 now.

They've been my fascination since I was actually 6 months old, my mom tells me.

And here is a pic of my all time favorite fan, scored mint in box. Made in 1971, a Lakewood model P-23 with the name Windsor on it. My grandmother had 2 slightly older versions of this fan under the Country Aire brand that I LOVED when I was little. I so love the startup sound on this one.

Dr. Mitch, I've not seen the GE one in that blue color. That's beautiful!

Sptats, my Grandma's Air King fan had those three big metal blades like that. Those fans like the one pictured are SERIOUSLY heavy and well made! I have seen vintage fans of all styles sell for astronomical amounts on Ebay.

I had a P-25, but ended up using it for parts a few years later. I'll buy another one when I can, as I went to Ace and saw the demo in much better condition... But on mine the blades were riveted wrong and was horribly off balance, and I could not get the blades off of the motor shaft. And the motor had this horrible and loud "woo" noise when on medium and low. The paint job was pitted. You can tell they cut corners on it.

Not vintage, but my Lakewood HV-18-WR window fan from 2003. This one runs nice, and at 1500+ rpm on high.

A somewhat modernish Lakewood from 1986. This was my first fan I've had since I was 4 years old. Behind it was my P-25.

I have a few more fans, but no pictures at the moment. They are out at the storage unit. I'll get some more when I can. I also have a 12" Western Auto Wizard rollabout fan my grandfather bought in 1955.
