And or vintage Sunbeam coffee service?

In my continued quest to reduce 'clutter" out of my home have decided to find new homes for several things. If anyone is interested please ask, otherwise probably will list on CL or Yahoo's vac pot group and see where that goes.

Suppose could put things up on fleaPay, but quite honestly that has become such a hassle these days it's rarely worth the bother IMHO.

Oh, the Sunbeam pots . . .

For a moment when I saw a heading of "vacuum coffee" I wondered if it was another of those bizarre old Kirby attachments like the paint sprayer or mosquito fogger or . . .

I'd love one...

...but they weren't sold here to the best of my knowledge AND would have to contend with 240V...

Then there is the matter of postage....

*Update*

Went into the "stash" to get things out for picture taking and there is only one Silex set (glass globes, heater with cord, filter and buffet tray). While the cloth filters are unused (one is still on it's card), didn't examine the coffee pots closely to tell if they had been used. The heater certianly has been used (not by us), or has suffered from long term storage. It's been ages since one made this purchase so don't know what the seller advertised. For all one knows he could have cobbled together the heater from another source.

The other box I *thought* contained a vac coffee unit instead has Ronson/Havilland china purchased on eBay when I was going through that phase as well. Totally forgot I ordered the thing and it has also sat sitting in the box.

Will put up some snaps of what's on offer soon as I decide what's going on.

Thanks for all the interest guys!

Sunbeam C-50

Hi Launderess,

If you still have the cover/lid for the C-50 I would be interested as mine is missing. That is if you are going to recycle it :-)

Thanks,
Rich

@whirlcool:

You're welcome for the speedy reply,such as it was! *LOL*

There was a NIB Sunbeam C30 on fleaPay this weekend and between BBQ toyed with bidding. Watched it until the end put pulled my finger off the trigger. There was only one bidder and he got it for $100.

Have seen too many fingers burned over the gasket issue of C-30's which is why one went for the C-50 in the first place. Life is complicated enough sometimes making AM coffe without fighting a gasket stuck on a hot pot of coffee.

@perc-o-prince:

Have kept the C-50 upper chamber with lid hanging around this past year or so whilst one toys with the idea of finding another lower pot. If anything the entire thing would have to go as the upper chamber is neither use nor ornament without the lid. My Sunbeam C-50 came NIB so have to fetch that box down from a high shelf and see what else in in there.Know it's storing the Cory aluminum pot, but know there are various "extras" that came with my unit as well.

I've used those replacement gaskets from that guy in Florida on my C30. They lasted about a year each, then the last one woudln't fit at all, so I gave up. I've been using the Cory for awhile, makes great vacuum coffee but the machine is very finicky as to how much water you put in and how your grind your beans. Get just a little bit off and the darned thing won't work right. I think after a month or two I finally have it down as it has worked for the past three days perfectly. The Sunbeams didn't do this to me.

I bought an all glass Cory the other day on Ebay, supposedly never used. I am hoping that I can just throw it in the dishwasher when done with it. I hate cleaning out coffee pots!

I've got the sunbeam version of that Silex, it's not ornamented, but similiar in function.

Is there a source for the seals on those?  Mine is very sticky, so if it's used, as soon as it gets hot the two vessels stick together and you have to fight to seperate them.  I'm terrified that I'll break it, so I dont use it anymore.
