I have a Rowenta Surfline iron that I got brand new when I was just 19. I love it... I love just owning a Rowenta (how fun is that to say... a name that stands for German quality, yay!) and I love the powerful blast of steam. I have some burned on gunk around the steam holes and I don't know how to get it off. Anyone have any ideas? Also, I was using some mothers metal polish on the sole plate and I accidentally got some on the word "Surfline" and it took off the S. This really upsets me. I hate it when the writing gets rubbed off appliances, cars, or anything, and this iron is only 5 years old. Is there any type of gray plastic paint I could use to "recreate" it? Excuse the dirty sink, my GE portable just finished a load :o) Also, excuse the blurry picture, I can't find my camera cable so I had to take pictures with my PDA, yuck! Thanks for any suggestions!

Rowenta sells an iron cleaning kit, about ten bucks and contains everything you need to clean the sole plate. Faultless Starch and Dritz also sell iron cleaners. Very simple to use, heat the iron on the highest temp then spuirt a ribbon of cleaner onto an old towel and rub away. HTH, Todd
