Thanks Robert!!

Snowed in today again 20 plus inches of snow already.

While that's true Charles, although I've had that active for Firefox users for weeks now, I couldn't get it to work for the other browsers until now.

But that's NOT THE CHANGE to wash/rinse/spin that I'm referring to ;-)

I think you all are going to really like this change.

Found the big Change

Robert you are great.

You have added the archives for the Imperial to Super again for people to search out all the old threads.

Is this for all the threads or just to a certain time frame.

No that's not it, that's always been there for upgraded users.

OK, the big change is now the WASH/RINSE/SPIN buttons are no longer saved locally on your hard drive via a cookie.  Now that we have a more powerful server I'm saving the data on the server.  What this means is if you view threads at work and then go home and view the index, the WASH/RINSE/SPIN indicators will still remember what you've seen during the day on your other computer(s).

question

Robert, is there a way to embed a link inside the main text of a message when you paste in an URL? Forgive my lack of HTML expertise, but can I turn on HTML editing and add the commands for "URL"? Sometimes I post a message with several links in the main body of the text, but they don't appear as links, so people have to copy the address and then paste it into a browser address window. I was just wondering if it's possible to do what I outlined above using HTML edit commands. (and honestly I knew the command for inserting a link but have forgotten it.....I remember commands like italics, bold, etc but don't remember the command for "insert link").

PS thanks for the useful non-cookie update. Will try it today at work.

Hi Jim, there sure is a way.  There is a link button on the Advanced Editing Bar.  First highlight the text that you want to turn into a link and click on the LINK button as shown below.  Add the address in the pop up box and click on Insert.  Go ahead give it a try.

Hi Matt, well that's strange I just checked seven different computers and they all have the bar, no problem.  I didn't make any code changes to anything that would have affect that.

Can you post a screen print of what you are seeing? Here is what I see...

Hey

I was trying to look at some pictures of restorations and such on some of the other pages and they were just little red x's. For example I was trying to look at the 57 Kenmore restoration and no pics were showing up. I'm using IE 7 at school but will check at home when I get a chance.

Thanks Robert!!!

Hi Joe, try hitting NEXT> to show the next picture.  I realize picture #1 is a red x, but that's an old bug that I haven't had time to fix yet.  But all the other pictures show up just fine.  Give that a try.

Thanks again Robert

Saving the viewing history on the server is pure genius.  Now I won't feel like a newbie when I read from a different computer or wipe out my history when cleaning my computers.  Just when you think the site can't get better... it does!

buttons

Hi Robert. My wash-rinse-spin buttons arn't working. They seem to be stuck on my last visit and don't update as I view new posts. Jeff

Robert my buttons stay the same also. On IE I can click the refresh and the button will change.

I cleared my cache and restarted my browser and all seems fine.  No idea what happened...

Are you guys are using the Back button to return to the Index?  If so then you would have to refresh otherwise your looking at old data.  Not only would you have old wash/rinse/spin data but if anyone has posted something new to the Index you would miss it by using the Back button as well.

I very rarely use the back button on aw or any other any website.  On aw.org I use one of the forum icons to return to the index, that way everything is always up to date.

I've put the forum icons at the top and bottom to make them easy to reach.
